Case #1 : Purification of nanosized particles
Conventional (general purpose) centrifugation cannot remove the non-reactant materials and agglomeration generated in dispersion process due to insufficient g force, when classifying the monodispersity in synthesized reactants.
Nanosized particles can be purified with greater g force offered by ultracentrifuge model CS150NX/FNX.
Density gradient centrifugation can purify the nanosized particles precisely.
Density gradient centrifugation is a useful technique to separate several particles at the same time, especially nanosized particles, which the sample is placed on a preformed linear density gradient solution in the centrifuge tube. There are two principles in the density gradient centrifugation, the one is the separation by differences in size between the particles, it is referred as “rate-zonal centrifugation”. The other one is the separation by differences in density between the particles, it is referred as “isopycnic centrifugation”. Density gradient centrifugation is effective method to purify nanosized particles.
